In order to for the main construction works to proceed, the existing live services running across the site had to be diverted around the perimeter.

Risks

Working directly with live services. Presence of asbestos.

Value engineering

All services crossing the site had to be diverted around the perimeter of the future building blueprint and new ones installed. These included steam, gas, water and electricity.

The works included the installation of new culverts and the decommissioning and safe asbestos removal of existing ones. Pipe support bases were formed to protect the assets and move them to an elevated position away from future construction activities.

This was completed under the immediate supervision of the site Engineer, ensuring any technical queries were responded to immediately, ensuring the works were completed as quickly and safely as possible.
